The City of Johannesburg is offering an exciting internship opportunity for 2025 through its Student Internship Programme, and applications are now open!

Internship Overview

This initiative by the City of Johannesburg is designed to help students fulfill academic or experiential training requirements while gaining real-world knowledge and skills in a government setting. This 18-month internship is a chance to learn from experienced professionals, build your CV, and open doors to future employment.

  • Location: JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein
  • Duration: 18 Months (Fixed-Term)
  • Stipend: R10 109.86 per month (basic salary, no additional benefits)
  • Closing Date: Wednesday, 23 April 2025

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen residing in the City of Johannesburg
  • Hold a Grade 12 certificate
  • Have completed a National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or higher) in one of the following:
    • Public Administration
    • Public Management
    • Finance or Financial Accounting
    • Logistics
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Front office receptionist and telephonist tasks
  • Basic financial management
