Umzumbe Municipality is a local municipality within the Ugu District Municipality, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. The municipality is named after the Umzumbe River. Towns within the municipal boundaries include Friedenau, KwaDweshula, St Faith’s, and Umzumbe.

Internship Overview
- Position: Finance Management Intern (x5 positions)
- Department: Finance Department
- Duration: 2-year fixed-term contract
- Salary: R100,000.00 per annum plus 13th cheque
- Closing Date: 23 April 2025
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Matric/Grade 12 certificate
- National Diploma or 3-year Degree in one of the following:
- BCom
- Financial Management
- Accounting
- Taxation
- Auditing
- Computer literacy (MS Office essential)
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
Interns will receive hands-on training and gain practical exposure in areas such as:
- Implementation of MFMA, GRAP, and budget reforms
- Budgeting and financial management
- Expenditure, supply chain, and procurement management
- Revenue and income control
- Asset management
- Support with compliance and audits
