Matla A Bokone Solar (formerly known as Droogfontein 2 Solar (RF) (Pty) Ltd) is one of South Africa’s largest solar projects with 261 360 solar modules harnessing the intense Northern Cape sun. This is a truly South African solar project, boasting 100% local ownership.
The Matla A Bokone Solar team is offering a unique development opportunity for local youth to join their Social Performance Internship Programme. This full-time 18-month internship is set to begin in July 2025, and applications are now open.

Who Should Apply?
You are the ideal candidate if:
- You are a South African citizen, aged 18 to 35 years, currently residing in the Sol Plaatjie Municipality
- You are proficient in Setswana, Afrikaans, and English (spoken, read, and written)
- You are committed to driving positive change within your community
- You either have a valid driver’s license or plan to obtain one by December 2025
- You meet the qualification and role requirements as outlined by the programme
